He is currently the president, professor and doctoral supervisor of Dalian Maritime University, and mainly engaged in research of marine engineering and ship mechatronics.
He is also the chief scientist of the key special projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, a member of the Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering Discipline Review Panel of the State Council Academic Degree Committee, the Director of the International Joint Research Center of Submarine Engineering Technology and Equipment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, a member of the Department of Energy and Transportation of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, member of the Polar Science and Technology Inter-ministerial Coordination Committee and Polar Science and Technology Expert Committee, member of the Policy Advisory Committee of the Minister of Transport, Executive President of the Alliance of New Transport think tanks, Vice President of the China Institute of Navigation, and Vice President of the Cross-Strait Shipping Exchange Association.
He has presided over more than 30 national planning projects such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He won the second prize of national teaching achievements in higher education, and received 6 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. He had 9 articles in transportation, communications and other fields published, which have been approved by leaders at the central and provincial and ministerial levels. He served as evaluation expert of the National Science and Technology Award, the National Natural Science Foundation projects, and the national key R & D programs for many times.
