Notice On The Work Summary Of Nautical Science Popularization Education Bases In 2022 And Work Plan In 2023

All the nautical science popularization education bases of China Institute of Navigation:
In order to enhance the capability of each base in terms of science popularization work, coordinate the deployment of science popularization activities throughout the year, guide more industry forces to join and support science popularization work, and promote the sustainable and healthy development of the Institute’s science popularization education bases, in accordance withManagement Measures of the Nautical Science Popularization Education Bases of China Institute of Navigation, summarize the science popularization work of each base in 2022, plan the content of science popularization work in 2023, exchange and share experiences and ideas, and enhance the capability and level of science popularization work, CIN is now organizing work evaluation of the national nautical science popularization education bases in 2022, and the related matters are hereby notified as follows.
I. Submission content
(i) Work summary of science popularization work in 2022
(1) Implementation of annual key science popularization activities, highlighting features and brand’s actual work effect as far as possible.
(2) Implementation of volunteer service in science and technology, the number and duration of service activities, and other basic information and effectiveness.
(3) Commendations and awards related to science popularization.
(4) Shortcomings in the work and suggestions for enhancing the bases’ science popularization service capacity.
(ii) Key science popularization activities in 2023
(1)Ideas for science popularization work in 2023.
(2)In 2023, China Maritime Day celebration activities will be held in Cangzhou, Hebei Province, and CIN will unite relevant units to hold the “National Navigation Science Popularization Week Activity”, which will be held from 10 to 16 July. All bases are invited to plan their activities for “2023 National Navigation Science Popularization Week” in advance, and to organize a variety of science popularization activities in conjunction with their work practices. For example: Base Open Day, Maritime Culture Entering the Campus, Publicity of Scientist Spirit, Competitive Race, Teenagers’ Hands-on Inquiry Based Learning (HIBL), Maritime Summer Camp, Science Popularization Exhibition, etc.
During the National Navigation Science Popularization Week Activity in 2023, the Institute will focus on organizing activities such as: Seafarer and Navigation, National Maritime Science Popularization Knowledge Contest (online preliminary plus offline final), Youth Painting and Calligraphy Competition on Navigation, Cloud Exhibition of Science Popularization, etc. All bases are requested to incorporate these activities into their annual science work plan combined with practice and actively cooperate in the relevant activities.
(3)Give priority to indicating the plans and arrangements for activities carried out at the national level, such as National Science and Technology Activity Week (the third week in May), National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day (May 12th), National Science and Technology Workers’ Day (May 30th), China Maritime Day (July 11th) and National Science Popularization Day (the third week in September).
(4)Carry out the arrangements for regular or emergency science popularization activities in navigation, including the proposed activities’ name, date and place, and the number of participants, etc.
(5)Participate in activities such as the National Science Popularization Day and the National Science and Technology Activity Week, join China Science Communication platform, open science popularization accounts and register as science popularization information officers.
(iii) Recommendation of science popularization works
According toMeasures for Science and Technology Rewards of China Institute of Navigation, the Institute plans to organize the acquisition and evaluation of “Science and Technology Awards of China Institute of Navigation in 2023 – Science Popularization Award” in the second quarter of 2023. All bases are invited to solicit and recommend science popularization works, mainly including books, periodicals, audio-visual products, videos, and multimedia works (see Attachment 1).
II. Submission requirements and notes
(1)All nautical science popularization education bases are requested to pay attention to and cooperate with the Institute to make the material submission. The content of the activities should highlight features and brand’s actual work effect as far as possible.
(2)The data contained in the submitted materials should be reliable and accurate.
(3)Please submit the above-mentioned materials in word version to the designated email address or contact person’s WeChat by December 31, 2022, with the file named by “base name plus science popularization work summary in 2022”.
