On December 21, the 2024 Salvage SystemWork Conference was held through a combination of online and offline methods. The meeting conveyed and studied the gist of the 2024 National Transportation Work Conference. Fu Xuyin, Member of CPC Leadership Group, Deputy Master of Ministry of Transport of China, attended the event and made a speech.
Fu Xuyin emphasized that the salvage system must further study and implement the spirit of the 2024 National Transportation Work Conference, continue to put people and their lives above anything else, coordinate high-quality development and guaranteed security, consolidate the foundation of thoughts, mechanism, and capability for emergency safety work, and firmly guard the last line of defense for water transportation safety.The salvage system must enhance political positions, be politically committed, and take an unequivocal stance. We must keep in mind the need to think in big-picture terms, be competent in performing duties, and boldly take on responsibilities. We should coordinate development and safety, be strict with measures, and dare to be rigorous; we must remain committed to self-reform, be capable, and dare to innovate. We must carry forward the salvage spirit, be disciplined in conduct, and have the courage to fight, and we must take practical actions to ensure that we have the audacity or opportunity to provide the salvage answer.
Wang Lei, Director of the Rescue and Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, made a work report. He urged the salvage system to continue exerting effort in focusing on 'three-E' (efficient personnel, excellent equipment, and exquisite technology), 'two-H' (high efficiency in emergency handling, high level of internal management), and 'one-S' (truly building maritime rescue and salvage into a strong national maritime emergency rescue vanguard and a leading force). The salvage system should always adhere to the eight guiding principles, effectively enhance capabilities in eight aspects and strive to achieve high-quality development in salvage.
