LI Xiaopeng emphasized the joint promotion of quality development of national transport facilitation at the first plenary meeting of National Transport Facilitation Committee in 2023.
On Feb 24, the first plenary meeting of National Transport Facilitation Committee in 2023 was held both online and offline to review the member list of National Transport Facilitation Committee, the 2022 work report and 2023 key work tasks. LI Xiaopeng, Chairman of National Transport Facilitation Committee and Minister of Transport, attended the meeting and stressed the need to be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, concentrate our efforts, work hard and move forward with determination to continuously improve the level of international transport facilitation and jointly promote the high-quality development of national transport facilitation.
LI Xiaopeng pointed out that since last year, the member units of National Transport Facilitation Committee have earnestly implemented the decisions and arrangements of CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and actively implemented work tasks agreed at the sixth plenary meeting. A great deal of effective work has been carried out in normal epidemic prevention and control in national transport facilitation, steadily advancing the construction of international transport corridors, improving the international transport agreement system, steadily increasing the coverage of transport facilitation network, implementing the reform of central financial authority, and continuously optimizing the business environment, which has effectively served the overall situation of national epidemic prevention and control, and effectively guaranteed the stability of industrial and supply chains and the necessary economic and trade exchanges between Chinese and foreigners.
LI Xiaopeng stressed that it is necessary to integrate thoughts and actions into all decisions and arrangements of the Party’s 20th National Congress, continuously enhance the level of international transport facilitation, and contribute to promoting transport as the pioneer of China’s modernization drive. We need to enhance the synergic effect of both domestic and international markets and resources, accelerate cross-border transport facilitation, continue to upgrade opening-up and cooperation, better serve the trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and perform our duties to jointly build “the Belt and Road” with high quality. We should actively advance global transport cooperation, promote the “Four-Sphere” interconnectivity of land, sea, sky and network, get deeply involved in global transport governance, and contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to sustainable development of global transport. We must better coordinate epidemic prevention and control and national transport facilitation development, provide more convenience for Chinese and foreigners, and strive to maintain the stability and smoothness of industrial and supply chains.
LI Xiaopeng stressed that 2023 marks the first year to fully implement the spirit of the Party’s 20th National Congress, a key year to implement the 14th Five-Year Plan that serves as a link between the past and the present, and an important year to lay the foundation for the comprehensive construction of building China into a modern socialist country. Therefore, we must focus on key points, speed up the promotion of high-quality development of national transport facilitation to achieve new breakthroughs.
The Office of National Transport Facilitation Committee explained the adjustment of the Committee member list, the 2022 work report and the 2023 arrangement of key work tasks. SUI Guohua, Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, GUO Dajin, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, LI Wenxin, Deputy General Manager of State Railway Group, and relevant comrades of Ministry of Public Security and General Administration of Customs of China made exchange speeches.
Comrades from 12 departments and units including Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs of China, National Immigration Administration, National Railway Administration of the People’s Republic of China, Civil Aviation Administration of China, State Post Bureau of The People’s Republic of China, China Railway Group and China Road Transport Associations attended the conference at the main venue. Besides, 12 provincial member units from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yunnan province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Liaoning province, Jilin province, Heilongjiang province, Jiangsu province, Fujian province, Shandong province, Guangdong province, The Tibet Autonomous Region and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region participated in the online sub-session.
