Recently, the results of the 4th "Municipal Cup" BIM (Building Information Model) application skills competition were released, and the "Application of BIM technology in the forward design of Chang Yi double track to Xinglian road large channel (river crossing section)" declared by Hunan Transportation Planning, Survey and Design Institute Co., LTD., a subsidiary of Hunan Construction and Investment Group, won the first-class achievement award of the design group.
The "Municipal Cup" BIM application skills competition is a national BIM competition sponsored by China Municipal Engineering Association. 553 works were received from major domestic and foreign construction companies and Class A design institutes of various provinces and cities. This award is the highest award of BIM application of China Municipal Engineering Association for Hunan Transportation Design Institute after one year, following the Star Prize of the third BIM Competition of Hunan Province and the first-class achievement award of the third BIM skills competition of China Municipal Engineering Association.
Since this year, the team of BIM technology R&D application center of Hunan Transportation Design Institute has won 12 awards in national BIM events such as "Transportation BIM Engineering Innovation Award" of China Highway and Transportation Society, "Tian Gong Cup" Digital Transportation and Intelligent Construction Technology Application Competition of China Highway and Transportation Society, "Zhi Jian Cup" International Wisdom Construction Innovation Application Great Prix Competition, "You Lu Cup" National BIM Technology Competition, etc., achieving double improvement and breakthrough in the number and quality of awards.
The winning of various heavyweight awards highlights the comprehensive strength and industry status of Hunan Transportation Design Institute in BIM application field. Design enterprises are at the front end of the industrial chain, leading the digital revolution of the industry. BIM, as a good carrier of digital assets, can maximize the value in the process of continuous data transmission. Hunan Transportation Design Institute will continue to deepen BIM forward design to lead the industry reform. By building a new digital form of industry, it will continuously improve the 3D digital delivery system of iterative design results, Engineering digital management system based on BIM+GIS and other series of products, empowering the internal management reform of the company, while continuously expanding the breadth and depth of the industry chain, comprehensively helping the industry, the group and the company digital transformation and high-quality development.
Award-winning case: Chang Yi double track to Xinglian road large channel (river crossing section) project
The project is about 5.5 km long, with a total investment of 3.8 billion RMB. It is a main rapid transportation artery linking east and west in the north of Changsha City, and is also the largest river crossing bridge in Changsha City at present.
The application of BIM technology starts to intervene from the scheme design stage of this project and runs through the whole design process. From 2019 to 2022, the team of BIM technology R&D application center of Hunan Transportation Design Institute adjusted the BIM model scheme more than ten times according to the research progress, collected tilted reality twice, and output hundreds of visualization results. BIM's full parametric model and multi-dimensional visualization results provide whole-process auxiliary and visual verification for the design optimization of bridge tower modeling, land acquisition and demolition analysis, clear distance analysis, under-bridge traffic space verification, integrated design of pipeline, slow traffic system setting, traffic guidance setting, etc. Through the form of 3D visualization disclosure and BIM check and feedback sheet, the project fully integrates BIM achievements into the design process, and implements the BIM collaborative design and application purpose of "BIM application process is digital design process".
