The Standardization Committee of China Institute of Navigation Held its Second Working Meeting in 2023

On November 15, the Standardization Committee of China Institute of Navigation(CIN) (hereinafter referred to as the “Standardization Committee”) held its second working meeting for 2023. Zhang Baochen, Executive Vice President of CIN and Director of the Standardization Committee, Shi Shiwu, Executive Deputy Director of the Standardization Committee, Chen Zongwei as well as Zui Yuwei, Deputy Director of the Standardization Committee, Cao Di, Supervisor of CIN, and 34 members of the Standardization Committee and group standard work of the institute attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Liu Ying, Deputy Director of the Standardization Committee.
At the meeting, the list of new members of the Standardization Committee of CIN was presented by Cui Yuwei, Deputy Director, and the revision of the Administrative Measures for Group Standards of the China Institute of Navigation was introduced by Liu Shun, Deputy Director. Chen Zongwei, Deputy Director, introduced the preliminary review of 21 group standard works collected in the second batch of 2023, and the attending committee members approved 17 of them in principle. Shi Shiwu, Executive Deputy Director, reported on the group standardization work carried out by the Institute in 2023 and the idea of group standardization work in 2024.
Finally, Director Shi Shiwu made a summary of the meeting and proposed three suggestions. Firstly, to further improve the standardization system of the nautical industry, and establish a new type of full-coverage nautical technical standard system to meet the needs of the development of intelligent shipping, ports, green and low-carbon and safe transportation services. Secondly, to strengthen the management of the implementation progress of group standards through enhancing the publicity and understanding of the published standards, track and evaluate the implementation effect and transformation. Thirdly, to further give full play to the members’ technical ability of the Standardization Committee for standard solicitation, review, etc. To this end, cultivate a group of youthful technical expert teams with the ability to prepare the standards.
