In order to further strengthen the forward-looking research and decision in navigational technology, lead innovative scientific research and promote the self-reliance and self-improvement of navigational technology, the China Institute of Navigation held a seminar on April 1, 2022 according to the requirements of the call for major scientific, engineering and technical problems and industrial technical problems (hereinafter referred to as "problems") of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) in 2022. Presided over by He Jianzhong, president of China Institute of Navigation (CIN), the seminar was held in the form of both online and offline. Four academicians of the Academy of Engineering in navigation field and eleven senior experts were invited to attend the meeting, and the relevant leaders of the Science and Technology Innovation Department of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) were present to guide the meeting.

Firstly, Liu Shun, deputy secretary general of CIN, introduced the problems and situation collected by the Institute. The Institute collected 25 problems proposed by 10 enterprises, including 14 in engineering technology, 10 in industrial technology and 1 in scientific frontier. The 8 recommended representatives in different fields introduced the background, latest progress and importance of the issues. The experts at the meeting had a full discussion on this issue and made perfect suggestions on the focus scope and research direction of the problem.
He Jianzhong, chairman of the Board of Directors, finally requested that the experts’ opinions be collected as soon as possible to integrate, supplement and improve the problems, and form a report with accurate positioning and clear focus and submit it to the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Institute will keep tracking the problems of concern.
