From June 28 to 29, 2021, Intelligent Shipping Industrialization and High Quality Development Forum was held in Qingdao Blue Valley, Shandong province. The forum was hosted by China Institute of Navigation (CIN) and China Waterborne Transport Research Institute, organized by Qingdao Shipping Development Institute and Navigation Brilliance (Qingdao) Technology Co., Ltd, to study intelligent navigation key technology and industry development trend, through experts’ keynote speeches, interactive exchanges and other forms, combined with the project of “Intelligent Shipping Industry Development Roadmap” undertaken by CIN. An in-depth discussion was conducted on the development trend and demand, development route and relevant policy suggestions of intelligent shipping industry and technology, so as to lead the high-quality development of China’s intelligent shipping.
The forum received great attention from all parties in the field of navigation. More than 50 leaders, academicians and experts from Maritime Safety Administration of the People’s Republic of China, regional maritime authorities, relevant enterprises, scientific research institutions, universities and other units in the field of navigation attended the forum. CIN introduced the implementation effect of the project of “Sci-Tech Service Group of Qingdao Shipping Intelligent and High-quality Development”, and introduced the research progress and follow-up work requirements of the project of “Intelligent Shipping Industry Development Roadmap”. The forum invited expert representatives from the five fields of intelligent ships, intelligent ports, intelligent supervision, intelligent shipping supports, intelligent shipping services to give a keynote speech on the research on the technology and industrial development route in their respective fields, mainly including the development trend requirements in various fields of intelligent shipping, key technology research and development topics, implementation time and policy suggestions. After the keynote speeches, all participating experts had interactive discussion and exchange focusing on the key issues of technology and industrial development in various fields of intelligent shipping. The participants made in-depth analysis and expressed their views, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions for the high-quality development route of intelligent shipping technology and industry in the future.
Zhang Baochen, executive vice president of CIN, stressed that the development of intelligent shipping is an important opportunity for China to build a maritime and shipping power. The project of “Intelligent Shipping Industry Development Roadmap” is one of the 13 important national industrial development road maps determined by the China Association for Science and Technology. It carries out the research on the road map for the development of China’s intelligent shipping technology and industry, and will play an important guiding role in improving the industrial chain and technology chain of all elements of China’s intelligent shipping and guiding the rational allocation of social resources. Through in-depth discussions and exchanges, the participating experts fully exchanged views on the technology and industrial development path in the five fields of intelligent ships, intelligent ports, intelligent supervision, intelligent shipping supports, and intelligent shipping services, and reached consensus on many issues. The forum will be of great significance for guiding the cooperative research and development of industrial generic technology and promoting the high-quality development of intelligent shipping in China.
