On the afternoon of June 20, “Award Ceremony for CIN Science and Technology 2017” was held in Beijing International Convention Center during the World Transport Convention 2018.
Xu Zuyuan, Former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and the Former Chairman of CIN, attended the awarding ceremony and presented awards to the winners. Together with Xu Zuyuan were Su Xiaojun, Vice Minister of Academic Department of China Association for Science and Technology, Huang Youfang, Chairman of CIN and President of Shanghai Maritime University, Liu Gongchen, Former Safety Officer of the Ministry of Transport and Former Standing Vice-Chairman of CIN, Cao Di, Standing Vice-Chairman of CIN, Zhao Dongye, Former Secretary-General of CIN, Sun Yuqing, President of Dalian Maritime University, Luo Delin, Associate Counsel of the Water Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, Fei Weijun, Vice President of the Institute of Water Transport of Ministry of Transport, Pan Wei, Chief Engineer of the Rescue and Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, Song Qin, Deputy Director of China Transport Telecommunications and Information Center, Liu Zuyuan, Vice President of Wuhan Technology University, Zhu Kai, Vice President of China Classification Society, Yang Guoping, Vice President and Chief Engineer of Design Institute of Ministry of Transport, and Wang Qun, Secretary-General of CIN.

Before the ceremony, CIN invited Hu Yaan, the Deputy Director of the Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute and the professor-level senior engineer, and Yin Haiqing, the Deputy General-manager of the Management Department for Island and Tunnel Project of HZMB and the professor-level senior engineer to give two wonderful academic lectures, respectively “the Current Situation and Prospects of High Dam Navigation Technology” and “the Technology Innovation and Practice of Island and Tunnel Project of HZMB”.

On the awarding ceremony, Cao Di, Standing Vice Chairman of CIN introduced the prizes of Navigation Sci-tech Journal Articles of China in 2015-2016, the 3rd Session of CIN Youth Science and Technology Awards, and the CIN Science and Technology Awards 2017 and declared the results of selection and the decisions of awarding.

The guests attending the ceremony presented the prizes of Navigation Sci-tech Journal Articles of China in 2015-2016(110 prizes), the prizes of Excellent Organization of Navigation Sci-tech Journal Articles in 2015-2016(11 journal editorial departments), and the CIN Youth Awards for Science and Technology in 2017-2018(10 people), the 3rd Session of CIN Youth Science and Technology Awards(10 people), and the CIN Science and Technology Awards 2017(60 prizes). The representatives of award-winner Zhang Xianku, Qi Yue, Liu Xiaodong and Hu Shaowei delivered speeches in turn.

The award ceremony for “CIN Science and Technology 2017” aimed to commend and encourage those who has achieved outstanding results or made contributions to scientific research, technological innovation and development, promotion and application of sci-tech achievements, and high-tech industrialization. In addition, it aimed to motivate the enthusiasm and creativity of the vast number of sci-tech workers in the navigation field, promote the advancement of navigation technology, and accelerate the development of the navigation industry.
The scene of some award-winners on the ceremony
On the ceremony, the front-line workers of China Waterborne Transport Research Institute specially presented a wonderful performance entitled “New Silk Road”. The performance showed the regional customs and culture of the countries along the Silk Road in the form of song and dance. It emphasized the development and changes of our motherland and the touching feelings of loving the country and the family. Finally, the performance won the applause from the participants.
