The national societies conference on party building, supported by China Association for Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the CAST) was held in China Hall of Science and Technology on Sept. 28, 2016. CAST leaders, including Shang Yong, Xu Yanhao, Yuan Yaxiang, Wang Chunxia and Xiang Changle, participated in the conference. Nearly 300 representatives attended the meeting, including leaders from the Work Committee of the Department under the Central Committee, the 2rd Bureau of the Organization Department of the Central Committee and Chinese Social Management Organization, as well as experts from multiple societies affiliated to CAST. Wang Qun, Secretary General of China Institution of Navigation (CIN), was entrusted to take part in the conference.
This conference held by CAST played an important role in the realization of “Double Coverage” of CAST party building work.
In the conference, Xiang Changle first conveyed the spirit on strengthening party building work in social organizations given by Xi Jinping, chairman of PRC. Duan Yingyu, vice secretary of Work Committee of the Departments under the Central Committee, and Xie Yufeng from the 2rd Bureau of the Organization Department of the Central Committee, delivered speeches respectively. Secretaries, from China Ordnance Society and China Highway and Transportation Society, introduced experience on party building subsequently. Then Song Jun, a member of CAST and minister of academic department, gave an illustrative report on Advice on Strengthening Party Building in Science and Technology Societies. At last, Shang Yong, secretary of CAST, deputy chairman and first secretary, made a closing statement, emphasizing that first we should undertake the political responsibilities on party building, and secondly to complete the task to the full focusing on the requirement of party building, then to highlight the important points so as to achieve the goal of “Double Coverage” as soon as possible, the last but not the least is to consolidate the leadership to provide strong support for party building.
National societies will make deployments according to the spirit of the conference, enhance party building work in combination with the reality, and achieve the goals set by CAST.
