On October 14, the 2016 Annual Conference and Academic Seminar of Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN were held in Guizhou Province. Yu Shicheng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of CIN, together with 57 committee representatives, who came from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Chongqing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Beijing, Guizhou etc., attended this meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, General Secretary Guo Guoping officiated at the opening ceremony. Vice committee director Xu Dafu from Hubei Port & Shipping Administration sent his gratitude to the participants in his opening speech. Thereafter, Chen Yingzhi, secretary of Guizhou Local Maritime Administration, delivered a speech extending his warm welcome to the seminar with a brief introduction of the general situation of shipping in Guizhou Province. Qiu Jianhua, Deputy Director of Changjiang MSA, delivered a speech expressing his affirmation of the cooperation with the Inland Ship Navigation Committee in recent years and hoped to further deepen the cooperation and exchanges of scientific research in the future. Furthermore, Yu Shicheng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of CIN, extended congratulations to the successful opening on behalf of the CIN, expressing his affirmation of the work of the Institute, and put forward expectations and requirements for the next step of the work. Besides, Professor Liu Jingxian, vice committee director of the Standing Committee, reported the work of CIN in 2016 during the meeting.
During this meeting, many specialists were also invited for special reports. For example, reports delivered by Gong Daoping, vice president of SINOTRANS&CSC, Fu Jinya, Senior Pilot of Changjiang Pilot Station, Wu Jianhua, Professor of the Institute of Shipping of Wuhan University of Technology, and Lu Yueming, Senior Pilot and deputy Secretary General of China Institute of Pilot received warm welcome.
In this meeting, a five-member expert panel for thesis evaluation was established and headed by Professor Cao Qiang from Army Officer Academy of Hangzhou. What’s more, in this academic annual conference, where 6 authors attended for paper discussion, 1 paper got the first prize, 3 papers the second prize and 5 papers the third prize.
